1. The structure selection       
Ball mill shell need to bear a large amount of load, and the comprehensive manufacturing deviation of overall structure is relatively small, so the selection type is overall structure.        
2. The connection mode between the shell and the end cover of the ball mill       
(1)Through the outer flange connection, this connection mode is widely used before the ball mill upsizing, by using this way, can be more convenient combination of cylinder and grinding head,        
(2) Through the use of welding to connect, the advantages of this way is more reasonable structure, convenient manufacturing and reliable connection.       
3. Selection of ball mill shell material       
steel plate Q235 as the main manufacturing plate ensures shell usage is reliable and improves service life by 30%       
4. The shell of the ball mill is welded by thick steel plates, and flanges are welded at both ends, which are respectively connected with the ball mill head. There is a manhole on the cylinder, which can be opened when the machine is stopped.       
5.The ball mill shell will generate huge torque when running. Therefore, it needs to have a large bending strength and rigidity, and the thickness is about 0.01-0.015 times the cylinder diameter.       
6.The ball mill shell should be opened with 1-4 doors (related to the length of the mill and the number of compartments), which are used to replace the liner, diaphragm, and the grinding body, and allow personnel to enter the mill for maintenance.
