Factors that affecting the service life of slag ladle
Generally speaking, slag ladle is sturdy and durable when bearing steel slag, but there is still a certain risk. The following are the reasons may effect the performance of slag ladle.
1. Abnormal slag in the converter
Abnormal slag is mainly the slag produced from high temperature iron oxide when washing slag and smelting special steel before the furnace is dismantled. The temperature and the amount of iron oxide of abnormal slag is slightly higher and liquidity will be better. However, after entering the slag ladle, the contact between iron oxide in abnormal slag and slag ladle body may produce certain chemical reactions and certain temperature impact load which may cause slag ladle accidents in a large extent.
2. Residual of continuous casting
Continuous casting will produce a certain amount of steel slag residual and some liquid steel. If special processing is not applied and casting quantity is large, the steel will direct contact to the slag ladle. After a long time, the liquid steel may cause corrosion or produce binding reaction with the slag ladle which may cause a certain degree of damage when the slag ladle working.
3. The influence of external force on slag ladle
When there is a binding reaction between the slag ladle and the steel slag, the product cannot be turned over normally. At this time, the external knocking force is needed to pour out the steel slag. The external striking force will be transmitted to the slag tank in the form of waves, and the loss of the slag ladle will also be caused by a certain amount of stacking inside.
Matters need attention during the casting of slag ladle
Large steel mills generally purchase large slag ladle of more than 8 cubic meters whose size is too large to control in production. its root part is very easy to produce shrinkage cavity or shrinkage loose. At the bottom of the slag ladle, there are four vertical angles. The root of the vertical angle produces great casting stress in the process of shrinkage so it is very easy to crack. Casting volume and surface area is large, there will be a lot of gas in the pouring process, is the casting process is difficult, must be considered in advance, in the process to make up.
The slag ladle is easy to produce thermal fatigue due to frequent contact with high temperature smelting slag, so the casting is not allowed to have cracks, shrinkage holes, porosity, porosity, sand holes, slag and cold insulation and other casting defects affecting the quality.
